Capability 02

Laboratory services

Sampling and analyses are how a utility proves its performance, and how our operators know what the process is actually doing. EMS has worked alongside accredited and certified laboratories for decades. Our current Vice President of Operations started here as a laboratory analyst and served as laboratory director, so the sampling we request and the reporting we deliver are built on that experience.

01

Compliance sampling & analyses

Routine sampling, with analyses performed by accredited and certified partner laboratories, supports permit conditions and required reporting for the facilities we serve.

02

Loading studies

Influent and effluent studies, including composite sampling and laboratory analyses, used to size, troubleshoot and plan.

03

Process control data

Results fed straight back to the operators running the plant, so process adjustments are made on data rather than guesswork.

04

Watershed monitoring support

Field monitoring and laboratory analyses supporting implementation of watershed management plans.

05

Reporting support

Assistance assembling and submitting the reports regulators expect, on the schedule they expect them.

06

Operator coordination

Results from the laboratories we work with come straight back to the operator running the plant, so the analyst's data and the operator's adjustments work from the same information.

Why it matters

Compliance is not a paperwork exercise. It is the result of a process that is watched closely every day. EMS partners with accredited and certified laboratories to perform the analyses. Those results come straight back to the operators and consultants running your system, so when a trend appears in the numbers, it becomes an adjustment at the plant, with no hand-off in between.
